This cross was designed and created by Genoese sculptor Antonio Vedele.
(13/05/1930 – 04/10/1997).
In June 2013, L.A.L. company S.r.l. entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with the Vedele Heirs for the production, sale and marketing of the Good Shepherd’s Pectoral Cross.
This item is made of silver, weighs 80 grams and represents “The Good Shepherd” who leads the flock to the sheepfold and carries the lost sheep on his shoulders.
«If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.» (Matthew 18,12-14)
Its basic, clean-cut style also represents the dawn of a new ecclesiastic age: a poor Church among the poor, as indicated by Pope Francis.
